Onward is a beautiful short-film that touches on a son’s desire to maintain and practice the traditions of his ancestors.
About futureTwo years ago, 29 year old Mongolian native Konki lost his father. Konki’s father, like generations of men before him, was an eagle hunter. As a kid, Konki began to learn about the family tradition of eagle hunting, but his training was stopped when Kinki was needed as an animal herder for his family. The passing of his father brought on a new passion to keep the tradition of eagle hunting alive. With the help of his cousin Onei, who has been hunting for 25 years, Konki learns everything he possibly can about eagle hunting. In the midst of learning this tradition that’s been passed down over 150 years and practiced for over 2,000 years, Konki begins to connect with his family both past and present.
